What a Wonderful Surprise
What a Wonderful Surprise
Mathias, great to see you have you new Classic Hanger. You may remember me from the old days and the fun I have had painting your great aircraft. I usually paired up with Hermann Boltz "Krazy". Anyway great to be a member of your forum.

Re: What a Wonderful Surprise
This is great with you being here Mathias. I felt bad when the old group broke up.
I'm very happy when you picked out the FW-190. Believe it or not, most of the U.S. pilots came back talking about the Folke Wulfs and not much said about the Bf-109s. Possibly because of confusion between Spitfires and the 190s.
As background, I am a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. You did a Bf-110 for me with Rudi Thun's markings for me. Rudi was a good friend of mine.
Congratulations and good luck on your new endevour

Re: What a Wonderful Surprise
Thanks much Helldiver and welcome to my little place.
Yes, I remember well when Alessandro and me had the opportunity to make a veteran happy.
You know, we "youngsters" don't have the chance very often to link WWII aviation history to a personal story and a face so it was really a great opportunity.
